Érresh

Ruslan Reshetov (b. 2003), who works under the pseudonym ÈRRESH, is a queer emerging contemporary artist working and living on Gadigal Land, Sydney. Of Eurasian, Tatar-Russian origin Ruslan was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where he pursued his artistic path from an early age, enrolling in his first art school at the age of five. With over twelve years of fine art education, he began his independent exhibiting career at the age of seventeen. After participating in numerous international exhibitions, Ruslan later relocated to Sydney, Australia with his family due to the political and social challenges he experienced in his home country.

His practice embraces an artistic approach to unraveling the beauty of the human inner world and the meaning behind consciousness, our place in the world, and what it means to be queer, both within sheltered and emergent environments. Reshetov’s work does not offer resolution. Instead, it holds space for ambiguity and transformation, foregrounding the ways in which queer experience often is an interior experience however can unfold across shifting and welcoming environments.
