We are excited to invite you to the opening of Gravity System Response (GSR), a solo exhibition by Ash Keating, from Thursday, August 28 until September 28, 2025.

These ethereal paintings are the latest works by the internationally recognised Australian artist, Ash Keating as part of his Gravity System Response (GSR) series, which has been presented across the globe since 2015, including the United States, Aotearoa/New Zealand, Europe, and Asia, and most recently at 'Spring1883' in Naarm/Melbourne.

‘The paintings are charged with deeply personal and tender reflections on grief, the passage of time, and their place within the canon of abstract painting; they ultimately radiate positivity for the human experience.'

This iteration features ten new paintings in the heavenly series. speaking to a universal language of love, loss, and light.

Year to year, I paint a number of works that are shown, or not shown, under this title, which was born, I guess, based on many years before, a decade ago, starting this series, painting with fire extinguishers, using both water and paint coming out of those. It's all in the paint, the mixture of water, on an exaggerated level - gravity - bringing something that I really connected with, brought back in my practice years later with this exploration, I guess. Knowing what other painters have done with this type of art making the studio over the centuries. For me, the systems are related to physics and natural systems.
