Ash Keating (*1980 in Melbourne, Australia) has made an international name for himself with spectacular paintings of entire buildings and huge walls. His art is significantly influenced by the vast scenic expanse of Australia, which he experienced as a child on flights with his grandmother in a Cessna 150. The intense colors between sky and earth are reflected in his works. His energetic paintings, with their fluid vertical progressions, reveal an almost transcendent longing. In a public, performative action, Keating transformed the caretaker's house in Langmatt Park into a massive three-dimensional painting. This publication also presents new works by Keating in dialogue with the Impressionist collection of the Museum Langmatt, thus providing fresh insight into the artist's work.
